WE see a lot of correspondence about litter in Bournemouth and the council’s responsibility to collect it. Undoubtedly, we are entitled to have litter collected since we pay our council tax.
The reality, however, is that although the council employees are hard working, they simply cannot keep pace with the rate at which litter is dropped.
Since we all want a clean environment, residents of the West Cliff regularly have “litter picks” to supplement what the council staff are able to do.
These events enable us to live in a cleaner environment and engender a sense of community in our area and I congratulate Chris Colledge who organises these events on behalf of West Cliff residents for his endeavour.
His “can do” approach does much to encourage people to make our lovely environment a bit better.
