I FELT I should reply to the letter from Ron Bryant claiming that the demolition of the Imax building is the worst possible solution because some residents object to its appearance and loss of view.
Bournemouth residents have been very clear that they want the council to remove the building which has been voted one of the most disliked in the land, with the majority of residents in favour of restoring the views across the bay.
Obviously the council has examined all the options in depth and a cross-party group has rejected alternatives to demolition, particularly since no commercial operators have come forward with viable proposals to invest in this building.
The council’s proposals put forward for this site will enhance and add to the attractions for residents and visitors alike and restore the wonderful vista that we had before and which the overwhelming majority of residents want and have demanded that the council restore.
