I AM putting together a local history archive of Druitt Hall in Christchurch and hope that readers may be able to help.

The future of the hall is uncertain and as it has played such an important role in the social history of Christchurch a record of it, in this its jubilee year, seems particularly fitting.

The archive is to take two forms. The first is a video and audio record – is there anyone willing to be filmed talking about the hall and their memories of it?

However big or small your memories are, it will all add to the record of the hall’s history.

Do you remember the Gang Show, jumble sales or even the lunch club there?

Did you put on a show there? What else was it used for?

Do you have any amusing stories about the place?

The second is a scrapbook of printed material connected to, or mentioning the hall.

Do readers have any photographs we can copy? Or newspaper cuttings, programmes, or posters for events?

Anything at all connected to Druitt Hall would be welcome.

The final video and scrapbook will be copied and given to the Red House Museum and Christchurch History Society as a permanent record of the hall.

Anyone with any memories or printed material who would like to help please contact me on 01202 477658 or write to 41 Wickfield Avenue, Christchuch, BH23 1JA.
