AS the houses in our cul-de-sac are situated above our garages we have a very clear view across the inner harbour area to the Purbeck hills.
Very often, due to the low atmospheric depressions, the rain sweeps in from the south east as against the south west normally, as it has done these last few days.
Today however, at one time this morning the lower, heavy rain clouds were coming in directly across from the Purbecks, and breaking up as they approached, blowing half the cloud away to the left, eastwards and half westwards.
Even as I watched it was like watching “the parting of the red sea.” A large patch of blue sky opened up as the rain ceased and the sun came out.
Not the first time I had seen the parting of the rain clouds, some to the east and some west but not the upper clouds at the same time.
We can also see the new Twin Sails when the bridge is up, especially at night when lit up.
