WHILE we are all congratulating ourselves on obtaining such a grandiose scheme of wind farm machines filling our bay to generate our renewables and do our bit to save the planet, spare a thought for the terrible plight of our garden birds this wintry summer.
Mothers sitting on soaked nests trying to shield their young from constant rain.
Unable to leave the nest at all and reliant on bedraggled, rain soaked males to find what little food is still available from a ‘poor weather’ depleted insect and seed population. Like wind farms that require a constant supply of wind energy these birds require a constant supply of high energy foods if they are to delight us next year.
I suggest it is easy to hang fatty seed balls that would be a delight.
