I WORK in a department store in Castlepoint (not just any department store), and I would like to tell you of an incident that happened today, that has restored my faith in human kindness.
A lady came up to me with £5 and asked me to buy two bunches of roses and give them to the lady who was behind her in the queue, then she disappeared.
I quickly bought the flowers and gave them to the lady, at which point she started to cry and didn’t know what to say.
Apparently, the two ladies had been talking in the queue, and one of them had told the other that her husband was having chemotherapy today, and that it was her birthday tomorrow.
So, the other lady obviously wanted to do something to make her feel better, hence the flowers.
To do something like that for a complete stranger really touched me, and just shows there are some people out there with huge hearts.
