SOMETIMES it pays to ask the question “Why did the council put down double yellow lines in the first place?”
I know of a very busy stretch of road close to Bournemouth town centre which has double yellow lines on both sides of the street.
Unfortunately some residents of the adjacent flats, who have disabled car badges, see this as an opportunity to guarantee themselves on-road parking at any time of day or night, seven days a week, with sometimes as many as five or six vehicles obstructing a very busy road.
I have asked the Town Hall “Why bother putting the yellow lines there in the first place if all these vehicles can just park there regardless?” and “Has the camera car seen them yet?”
I’m still waiting for a sensible answer.
